5 Steps to the Perfect at Home Facial
First things first, set the mood! This can be something as simple as lighting a candle or incense, pouring yourself a drink of your choice whether that be herbal tea or a glass of Rosè and playing some relaxing music in the background.
Step 1. CLEANSE
Whether you have makeup on your face or not, you want to start your facial with a clean palette. This will ensure that you’re not locking in the dirt and products can sink in better.
Step 2. STEAM YOUR FACE
To steam your face at home there is no need to rush out and buy any fancy equipment. A good old bowl, some boiling water and a towel over your head will do the trick. Adding facial botanicals and or essential oils ( both available at our online store ) to the water elevates this step for a more luxe therapeutic experience.
Step 3. EXFOLIATE
Now that your pores are opened up, you can begin exfoliating. Exfoliation helps scrub away at the top layer of skin, removing dead skin cells and help your skincare products to be properly absorbed into your skin.
Be careful when exfoliating as you don’t want to overdo it! It is important to remember that your skin is delicate and you don’t need to scrub too hard!
Step 4. MASK
This is our Favourite part of a Facial!
Using your Yarra Valley Bath and Body Clay Powder, its time to mix and personalize your clay mask by adding ingredients such as floral waters, Coconut oil or essential oils - depending on what your skin needs. Then simply apply to face following instruction card.
Step 5. MOISTURISE
Once you’ve finished removing your mask of choice it's time for the final step which is hydration. Moisturisers are the key to locking in all the beneficial ingredients you’ve just added to your skin, so don’t forget this step. Take your time massaging in your serums and creams of choice, using upwards motions so as to not drag the skin.
